Thanks for looking in on "Dad's Page". |
Actually, with the exception of "Nolans Page", these are all my handy work. One of the many tasks in my job is to help maintain my companies "Intranet". After the birth of our lastest family member, we were trying to think of a quick way to show him off to our family and friends. Enter: this site. It was quick, easy and most of all fun! As you can see, I've added enough to spice it up a bit without going overboard. I use a little html, a little Java, a splash of CSS, and just a sprinkle of VBScript. All of this together is called "Dynamic HTML. I know this because I spent many hours searching for info on DHTML without much luck. Finally, after reading many boring tech sheets, I found one that defined DHTML as: a combination of scripts, html and imagination. Anyway, after doing this all day at work, the imagination runs a little thin. So this site is usually negleted. But I do update it from time to time.
If you came here looking for stacks of technical information on website design, sorry. Most everything I know is self taught. I wing it most of the time, but somehow always manage to pull it together in the end. I spend many hours at night going over code looking for that one character that is out of place. This is where I thank my wife for her patience. Anyway, I have tried to set up a brief outline on the "How do I get one?" page for the beginner to follow. I have also added links to some of the sites I found useful, and some of the books I use for reference. If you want your own site, but don't want to go thru the work, e-mail me and I'll do what I can to help you get set up. I can do personal, club, or company sites. If you're looking for a personal or club page, I can help you get hosted by one the companies the offer free server space (Like this one!)
Well, that's all for now. Like most of the really good sites out there, this site will change from week to week. Stop back again to see what's happening in our little corner of the world. Oh yeah, If you have any comments on this site, drop us a line.
